Historic Motorsport in the Streets of Puerto de la Cruz
Puerto de la Cruz is the base for the 2026 Isla Tenerife Histórico, the closing event of this year’s Spanish Historic Rally Championship. The rally brings cars built for different eras of the sport together in a competition that also reaches roads across northern Tenerife. In town, the start and finish at Plaza del Charco give visitors a chance to experience the atmosphere around the crews and cars without following every timed section.
Rallyten Sport has announced a route of approximately 315 km, including about 107 km across eight timed sections. Those competitive roads are spread beyond Puerto de la Cruz, so the town’s start, finish, checks and service area are distinct parts of the event.

2026 Rally Outline: 23–24 October
Friday 23 October
The first stage is scheduled to leave Puerto de la Cruz at 18:00. It includes two runs of the Las Medianías–Chasna timed section, listed for 19:03 and 21:26 in the organiser’s initial programme. The evening stages make timing and access especially important if you plan to watch away from the town centre.
Saturday 24 October
The second stage includes two runs each of Medianías–Palo Blanco, El Lagar–Llanito Perera and El Tanque–Drago Icod. The organiser also plans a regrouping at the Antiguo Mercado in Los Realejos, connected with a tribute to CD Turcan Sport. The rally returns to Puerto de la Cruz for its official finish.
Stage times and road access can change. Use the organiser’s current spectator page for the final programme, route and safety advice before setting out.

Where Is the Rally in Puerto de la Cruz?
Plaza del Charco is the announced setting for the official start and finish. The organiser places pre-event checks around the Casa de la Aduana and the service park on the port esplanade. These central locations are close enough to explore on foot, but they serve different purposes and will be affected by the rally’s operational arrangements.
The Gran Hotel Taoro is the new operations centre and presentation venue. It is not the Plaza del Charco start or the roadside stage viewing location. Check the final spectator map for the exact access points and any closures.
Information for Spectators
The rally’s timed sections take place on roads in several municipalities, including La Orotava, Los Realejos, La Guancha, San Juan de la Rambla, Icod, Garachico and El Tanque. Choose a specific approved viewing area from the organiser’s final information, allow for road closures and arrive before the published access cut-off. Follow marshal instructions and remain behind any barriers; never enter a closed road or stage.
The organiser has requested authorisation for an optional Friday shakedown. Because that was still a request in its announcement, it should not be treated as a confirmed public session. The final entry list and detailed spectator notices may change closer to the rally.
Planning a Visit
If your main interest is the cars and the town atmosphere, base your visit around Plaza del Charco and check the confirmed arrival and departure times shortly before the event. If you want to watch a timed section, choose your location first and plan the journey around the organiser’s access and safety instructions rather than a normal road route.
For an overnight visit, central Puerto de la Cruz puts the start and finish area within walking distance of much of the town. Our where to stay guide helps compare the main areas.
