THE SUMMER THEATER FESTIVAL
Veranos del Taoro takes advantage of the exceptional climatic conditions of an island of eternal spring, great names in national and international drama, and a privileged natural environment, the Sortija Park, in the municipality of Puerto de la Cruz, to start its own tradition open-air theater. With Veranos del Taoro we collect the tradition of events such as the Regent's Park Open Air Theater in London or Shakespeare in the Park in New York where, despite being completely outdoors, the theater has changing rooms for the technical and artistic cast or the makeup department.
One of the characteristics that will define this event will be its pedagogical vocation, the indisputable value of its interpreters, the incontestability as a work of value of the texts represented, and a commitment to bring the quality of the spoken word closer to audiences further removed from these contexts thanks to the diversity of the proposals that will truffle the programming of these days of proximity culture.
The framework will encourage the enjoyment of the afternoon and evening to fill the brain not only with cognitive stimuli, but also with sensory and experiential ones.
Access to the park is free, so the public is welcome to be part of our festival community, even if you decide to access only our gastronomic offer. And what do we offer you? A family atmosphere, calm, but at the same time fun, in which to savor a wide range of the most refined street food, such as hamburgers or gourmet dogs, without forgetting some vegan alternatives, to cater to all types of sensitivities. There will be food trucks, one specifically for drinks, and a space to enjoy the light of the stars.
