We look love to eat at this restaurant for two main reasons. The first is because it is a great place to people watch and the second is because there is a singer – so we can enjoy some live music whilst we eat our meal.
Located on the front terrace of the Hotel Marquesa (one of the oldest hotels in Puerto de la Cruz) this restaurant is a popular choice with both local residents and tourists. Enjoy a meal overlooking the Church Square (Plaza de Iglesia) and listen to the bells chiming in the Church of our Lady of Peña de Francia (Iglesia de Ntra Sra de la Peña de Francia).
We always find the service to be very friendly, although sometimes when they are busy, there is a little wait to be served. The menu – in our opinion – is not overly extensive but does offer the following dishes – meat, fish, tapas, salads, soups, omelettes as well as pasta and rice.
This time I choose the grilled salmon “Marquesa” which was served with a mixture of fresh vegetables and papas arrugadas with mojo sauces. My partner had lamb chops served with sauteed potatoes and mixed vegetables. According to the menu it should come with a red wine sauce – although this never arrived but to be honest, he was quite happy without it! Both meals were very nicely presented and arrived hot.
One thing that I do like about this place is that it has an open kitchen so you can walk past and see how your food is being prepared if you so with to
There is no indoor seating – only outdoor on the terrace. Indoor seating is used by hotel guests enjoying their evening meal.
Something to pay attention to is the walk to the toilets. You must pass through the hotel foyer and walk right to the back of the reception area – it is a bit of a hike! However, they are clean and tidy.
As the restaurant is so popular, on odd occasions there is a queue to be seated.
