This year's monthly Autumn/Winter talks at the English Library continue on January 16 with a fascinating offering from Derek Winterbottom as he relates the enthralling story of the relationship between crime sleuth Agatha Christie and her husband Archie.
February sees the return of Chris Hair with another of his talks on Ancient Egypt: this time he examines the fact and fiction surrounding Cleopatra VII, one of only a handful of female pharaohs that ruled that remarkable civilisation.
The season concludes in March with a talk by Graham Taylor on Marianne North, a Victorian botanist and artist who traveled the world, compiling a journal of her experiences. Graham introduces us to the intrepid explorer and relates her visit to Tenerife.
