Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife Review: First Impressions of a New Five-Star Adults-Only Hotel in Puerto de la Cruz
Table of Contents
Introduction
It is truly encouraging to see a new five-star hotel opening its doors in Puerto de la Cruz, and we were delighted to be invited for a preview visit to explore the facilities and enjoy breakfast at Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife.
Formerly known as the Parque San Antonio Hotel, the property has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment programme. At the time of our visit, some work was still quietly ongoing, yet it had been managed with such care and discretion that guests would scarcely notice. The atmosphere remained calm and polished, with no disruption to the overall guest experience.

Gardens and Pool Area
We were warmly welcomed by Elsa Schröder, the events manager, who kindly guided us through the grounds. As we walked past the pool area towards the dining room, she explained how the renovation had been designed to preserve the hotel’s beautiful, mature gardens. These lush grounds feature an appealing variety of plants and fruit trees — including banana, orange, and avocado — giving the hotel a wonderfully natural and tranquil atmosphere.
Around the pool, the area has been completely retiled and furnished with an abundance of comfortable sunbeds, creating an inviting space for relaxation.
Breakfast, Dining Room and Terrace Views
The Tremor Restaurant hosts buffet style Breakfast and Dinner and is located on the first floor, easily reached by lift. It also boasts a lovely outdoor terrace offering views of both Mount Teide and the pool below — an idyllic setting in which to start the day. Breakfast is served buffet-style, with an attentive chef preparing fresh eggs and omelettes to order. The selection was generous, well-presented, and of excellent quality. The dining area itself is spacious, bright, and stylishly modern.
A particularly welcoming touch was seeing the hotel manager Onésimo Dorta and his assistant Zaira Gómez taking the time to greet guests and chat with them while they enjoyed their breakfast.
Magma Restaurant
The Magma Restaurant, is open daily for Lunch and pool Cocktails and offers a varied menu of dishes. It is also worth noting that the restaurant welcomes non-hotel guests, and the pricing is refreshingly reasonable for a hotel of this standard.
Rooms and Facilities
The hotel offers a variety of room categories, ranging from comfortable standard single rooms to spacious two-bedroom apartments. All rooms are equipped with thoughtful amenities including tea and coffee-making facilities, a small refrigerator, complimentary Wi-Fi, a flat-screen television, an iron and ironing board, and a safety deposit box. The décor throughout is elegant and contemporary, featuring light, natural tones that create a calm and inviting environment, complemented by high-quality furnishings.
The hotel itself is arranged across several blocks, each named after national parks found throughout the Canary Islands. This theme continues within the rooms, where striking photographs of these landscapes adorn the walls, adding a distinctive and local character to the décor.

Location and Transport
The hotel is an adults-only property, welcoming guests aged 16 and over. While it is within walking distance of Puerto de la Cruz town centre, the hotel also provides a convenient courtesy shuttle bus for guests.
Final Thoughts
Overall, our first impressions were extremely positive. The hotel felt impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and very well managed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms have been refurbished to a particularly high standard. One of the most pleasing aspects of the renovation is the preservation of the hotel’s lush, green gardens, which help maintain its original charm. In an era when many developments lean towards concrete and minimal greenery, it was refreshing to see such care taken to retain this natural oasis.
Further enhancements are also on the horizon, with a health and wellness centre and a theatre area due to open soon — additions that will no doubt further enhance the guest experience.
