A British History in Puerto de la Cruz

Local renowned author John Reid recently spent a morning chatting to me about his family and his life in Puerto de la Cruz,  Tenerife.

The Reid family originally came to the Canary Islands back in 1812, and John very kindly shared elements of his family history from then until present day.  He talks about the Reid family businesses, the formation of The All Saints Anglican Church, the English Library as well as the British Games Club.

John shares some interesting information about the early trade that took place between the island of Tenerife and the UK, as well as talking about the onset of tourism in Puerto de la Cruz.
