Pomodoro Restaurante Review

This restaurant is in a superb location overlooking the San Telmo Bay in Puerto de la Cruz, where you can sit to watch and listen to the waves of the Atlantic Ocean crashing up against the rocks below.  With this in mind, the outside terrace is generally very popular.  There is also inside seating as well.

The menu here is vast and covers almost everything including pizzas, pastas, meat and fish dishes, soups and salads.

We usually come here for pasta!  This time I had the lasagne (which was unusually a little oven cooked) but nevertheless served piping hot with plenty of meat in the sauce.   My partner had tagliatelle carbonara and was a little disappointed that it seemed to be mainly pasta and nothing much else.   The garlic bread was great.

Unusually for us, we did come away a little bit disappointed with the food this time, but it won’t deter us from going back, as we like to think it was just a one off.

The service, although very efficient is not always overly welcoming!

Open plan kitchen which is something that I like so that I can see how my food is being prepared and handled.

Our meal, including a bottle of wine cost us 41 euros, which I would consider good value for money.

This restaurant is not easily accessible by wheelchair unless you come in via the adjoining restaurant.  The same applies to the access to the toilets as these are downstairs underground!
