About Ritmos Handmade

Ritmos Handmade is Puerto de la Cruz’s International Percussion Festival, created around the idea of percussion as a broad musical language rather than a single style. The festival has developed a mix of performance, education and participation, bringing together professional artists, students and the public.

The festival’s own description highlights classical, contemporary, ethnic and popular percussion, while its educational side is built around masterclasses, workshops and the transfer of technical and creative knowledge. The 2026 municipal cultural programme again presents Ritmos Handmade as one of Puerto de la Cruz’s specialist autumn festivals, combining concerts with training and participatory activity.

For visitors, that means Ritmos Handmade is more than a sequence of evening concerts. Some of its most interesting sessions are designed to show how percussion is created, taught and shared, with different parts of the programme aimed at musicians, learners and the wider public.

Ritmos Handmade 2026 Programme

The official 2026 dates are Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November, with Lago Martiánez identified as the festival venue. Cultura Puerto de la Cruz confirms that this ninth edition will include performances, conferences, workshops and international masterclasses.

The complete day-by-day timetable has not yet been published, so we are not carrying forward times, rooms or activities from the 2025 programme.

Friday 13 November – Carlota Cáceres

Percussionist Carlota Cáceres has independently confirmed a Ritmos Handmade solo concert on 13 November at Complejo Turístico Costa Martiánez. Her listed programme, titled Metamorfosis, includes works by Carola Bauckholt, Kaija Saariaho, Lei Liang, Anahita Abbasi and Isabel Urrutia.

No start time for that concert is currently shown on her public agenda. We will add the exact time, room, remaining artists and the rest of the daily programme once the 2026 festival schedule is released.

Confirmed Artist for Ritmos Handmade 2026

Carlota Cáceres

Carlota Cáceres is a percussionist specialising in contemporary music, working both as a soloist and in chamber music. Her official biography records international festival and ensemble experience, and she currently teaches percussion at the Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears.

Her own agenda confirms a Ritmos Handmade solo concert on Friday 13 November 2026 at Complejo Turístico Costa Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz.

The complete 2026 festival artist list has not yet been published. Additional names will be added here only when they are confirmed by the festival, Cultura Puerto de la Cruz or the artists themselves.

Hand to Hand and Community Participation

Community participation is one of the ideas built into Ritmos Handmade through its Hand to Hand platform. The project is designed to involve people in the organisation and development of the festival, creating a space for collaboration, ideas and practical participation.

That approach fits the wider character of Ritmos Handmade: the festival is intended not only as a showcase for invited percussionists, but as a meeting point linking artists, music education, local participants and audiences in Puerto de la Cruz.

Where Is Ritmos Handmade 2026?

Ritmos Handmade 2026 is based at Lago Martiánez / Complejo Turístico Costa Martiánez on the seafront in Puerto de la Cruz.

The César Manrique-designed complex is one of the town’s best-known landmarks and also contains indoor and outdoor spaces used for cultural events. The exact room or area for each 2026 activity has not yet been published, so check the individual programme entry when the detailed timetable becomes available.

Visitor Information

The festival runs for four days, from 12 to 15 November 2026. The 2026 sources currently confirm the dates, main venue and general mix of concerts, masterclasses, workshops and conferences, but they do not yet provide the complete timetable.

Admission and booking: the 2026 ticket, reservation and capacity arrangements have not yet been published. Previous editions have included free activities, but we are not assuming that the same conditions apply to every 2026 session until the organisers confirm them.

If you are especially interested in a masterclass or a particular artist, check this page again closer to the festival. Some educational activities may use a specific room within Costa Martiánez and may have different access arrangements from larger public performances.

Local Tips for Ritmos Handmade

Lago Martiánez is on the eastern side of central Puerto de la Cruz, beside Avenida Colón and the seafront. If you are staying around the Martiánez area, San Telmo or the town centre, walking is usually the simplest way to reach the complex.

If you are driving, allow extra time for parking, particularly for popular evening performances. The Martiánez area is one of the busier visitor zones in Puerto de la Cruz.

Do not assume every festival activity uses the same entrance or part of the complex. Once the detailed programme is published, check the specific location for the concert, workshop or masterclass you plan to attend.

Official Ritmos Handmade Information

The detailed 2026 programme is still developing. Cultura Puerto de la Cruz already confirms the ninth edition, 12–15 November dates and Lago Martiánez venue. The Ritmos Handmade festival website was still displaying the 2025 edition at our latest check, so we are using the newer 2026 Cultura information for the current dates and venue.

We will update this guide when the full 2026 daily schedule, remaining artists, times and admission arrangements are published.
