This year's monthly Autumn/Winter talks at the English Library continue on February 20 with Chris Hair for another of his talks on Ancient Egypt: this time he examines the fact and fiction surrounding Cleopatra VII, one of only a handful of female pharaohs that ruled that remarkable civilisation.

The season concludes in March with a talk by Graham Taylor on Marianne North, a Victorian botanist and artist who travelled the world, compiling a journal of her experiences. Graham introduces us to the intrepid explorer and relates her visit to Tenerife.
