If you are looking to Italian food, then you really must visit Ristorante Mamma Rosa in Calle El Lomo in the old part of the town.
We were absolutely spoilt with the quality – and quantity of the food!
With indoor and outdoor seating, both areas suitable for wheelchair users, this is a definite “must” restaurant in which to eat!
The service was very friendly, efficient and the food was served in a timely fashion, hot and incredibly generous portions.
Our recommendations would be to start with the antipasto – served on a wooden board – a mixture of cheeses and ham, which we had accompanied by a variety of fresh breads!
We followed up with black ravioli (a new one for me) stuffed with salmon in a curry tasting sauce which was very tasty (I shall be going back to have this again!) We also enjoyed pasta in a creamy sauce.
If that wasn’t enough, we sampled a trio of desserts – tiramisú, panna cotta (served with berries and mango marmalade) and sicilian cannolo (cookie tube filled with ricotta, chocolate, pistachio cream and fruit) – all very tasty.
There are also various Gluten Free options as well as dishes for vegans and vegetarians.
All our food was beautifully presented, and I would say, prepared by a chef who takes pride in his work! Well done to him.
The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12.30 until 22.30, closed on Sunday and Monday.
Please go along and support this wonderful restaurant, and of course, remember to mention puertodelacruz.info in order to get a free glass of prosecco with your meal.
