El Padrino Review

We love eating here – Petra, the owner is always so friendly and welcoming. The service is efficient, the place is spotlessly clean, and the atmosphere is always good.

Part of an ever-increasing chain of restaurants which also include El Padrino San Amora in La Paz, on the sea front opposite the Lido – the Restaurant La Taberna del Lago and just off Plaza del Charco, Restaurant El Pescador.

As this is a regular of ours, there are certain favourites that I like – including the salmon in bearnaisse sauce and the pork in blueberry sauce.  This time round I opted for the pork in blueberry sauce which comes with most divine red cabbage and new potatoes.  Served hot, and in a timely but not rushed manner, it is always a firm favourite with me.

The other half decided to have the pork in pepper sauce which came with chips.   The pork was tender, and the sauce was just right.

Portions are generous (and to be honest often a little over generous).

There is indoor and outdoor seating although you do need to be quick to get a seat outside as their terrace fills up quite quickly especially earlier on in the evening (around 6ish) and again at around 9pm.

The open kitchen also means you can see the chefs preparing the food.

For two main courses and a bottle of wine the total bill was 46 euros – great value for money in our opinion.
