What to Expect

Groups, pairs and individual dancers will bring their routines to the sports hall for a lively morning of urban dance. The Cabildo expects around 500 participants across five categories, from young dancers in infantil and junior to the large crews of megacrew.

Judges will consider technique, expression, originality, musical interpretation and how each choreography works as a whole. For spectators, it is a chance to see the energy and creativity of the island’s dance scene up close. The photograph below shows an earlier edition, not the 2026 venue.

The 2026 Competition

The championship is scheduled from 10:00 to approximately 14:00. The organiser has confirmed the five categories, but has not published a running order for individual crews or the exact prize presentation time. First-, second- and third-place finishers in each category will receive prizes; each category winner also receives an entry to Urban Display 2027. A separate Premio Emociones recognises a group or pair whose performance makes a particular impression on the audience.

The official poster below gives the date, start time and venue and marks spectator entry as free.

Where Is Pabellón Miguel Ángel Díaz Molina?

The championship takes place at Pabellón de Deportes Miguel Ángel Díaz Molina on Avenida Rosario Sotomayor in Puerto de la Cruz. The Cabildo’s sports-facility listing gives the address as Avenida Rosario Sotomayor, s/n, 38400 Puerto de la Cruz. Check that venue name when planning your journey: previous editions were held at a different sports hall.

Entry and Registration

Watching is free: the 2026 organiser poster says “Entrada libre”. If you want to compete, use the official Tenerife Urban Dance page to reach the registration form and full rules. Registration closes on Friday 13 November 2026.

Participant fees in the official rules are €7 per dancer for infantil and junior, and €9 per dancer for absoluta, pairs and megacrew. These are competition entry fees, not spectator tickets. Teams with younger dancers should read the category ages, consent and documentation requirements in the official 2026 rules before registering.

Tips for Your Visit

The contest runs through the late morning, so come near the 10:00 start if you would like to watch more than one category. Head for the Miguel Ángel Díaz Molina pavilion in Puerto de la Cruz; earlier editions used the Santiago Martín venue elsewhere on the island. The organiser has not yet released the order of performances, so check its event page if you are coming to support a particular crew.
