About DLibro Festival
DLibro is a festival centred on the book and the professions that make books possible. Rather than concentrating only on finished works or author appearances, it looks at the creative and technical processes that take a book from an idea to its readers.
The 2026 festival description highlights writing, translation, illustration, editing and the role of bookshops and reading communities. The aim is to create a meeting place where professionals can exchange knowledge while readers can discover more about the work that normally happens behind the scenes.
The festival combines professional exchange with activities intended for the wider public, including both adults and families. That makes DLibro useful not only for people who work in publishing, but also for visitors interested in literature, books, creativity and the cultural life of Puerto de la Cruz.
DLibro Festival 2026 Programme
The confirmed festival dates are Tuesday 17 to Saturday 21 November 2026.
Explore the world behind the books you love through public interviews, talks, discussion panels and workshops. Writing, translation, illustration, publishing, bookshops and reading communities are all part of the festival’s focus.
The festival website currently announces that the programme and more information are coming soon. The full timetable, speakers, session venues and booking details are still awaited.
What Does DLibro Explore?
DLibro looks beyond the finished book to the network of people and decisions involved in bringing it into the world.
- Writing: how ideas and stories develop into finished texts.
- Translation: how books move between languages and cultures.
- Illustration: the visual work that shapes many books and reading experiences.
- Editing and publishing: the professional processes that turn manuscripts into published books.
- Bookshops and reading communities: how books find readers and how communities form around reading.
The 2026 festival is expected to approach these subjects through conversation and participation rather than simply presenting a conventional book fair.
Where Does DLibro 2026 Take Place?
Puerto de la Cruz's 2026 municipal event material identifies Castillo de San Felipe together with other emblematic spaces in the town as settings for DLibro.
Castillo de San Felipe is a historic 17th-century coastal fort beside Playa Jardín that now functions as one of Puerto de la Cruz's principal cultural spaces. It regularly hosts exhibitions, talks, concerts and other creative projects.
Castillo de San Felipe: C. Luis Lavaggi, 10, 38400 Puerto de la Cruz, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The full 2026 programme has not yet assigned individual activities to specific venues, so do not assume that every DLibro session will take place at the castle. We will add the complete venue list when it is published.

Visitor Information for DLibro 2026
DLibro runs for five days from 17 to 21 November 2026. At this stage, the confirmed information is enough to plan around the festival dates, but not yet around individual sessions.
Tickets and reservations: no complete 2026 admission or booking information has yet been published. Some activities may be open-access while workshops or smaller sessions could have different capacity arrangements, so wait for the detailed programme before assuming that every event can be attended without registration.
The festival is intended to combine professional sessions with activities for the wider public, including family and adult audiences. When the programme is released, check the description of each activity to see who it is designed for and whether advance booking is required.
Local Tips for DLibro Festival
Castillo de San Felipe is beside Playa Jardín on the western side of central Puerto de la Cruz. It is an easy walk from the old town, although allow a little extra time if your accommodation is around Martiánez at the opposite end of the centre.
Because DLibro is expected to use more than one cultural space, check the venue for each activity rather than automatically heading to Castillo de San Felipe.
If two sessions interest you on the same day, look at their locations as well as their start times. Most central Puerto de la Cruz cultural venues are walkable, but the detailed programme will determine how practical it is to move between individual events.
